Not The Protest The Moonbats Had Hoped For

The National Governor’s Association is in town and, as expected, there was a protest outside of the kickoff event at Fenway Park last night.  But it wasn’t the protest the moonbats had hoped for.  Instead of a sea of  Mexican flag-waving crazies protesting the Arizona immigration law and Jan Brewer’s presence, at least two thousand Massachusetts police officers were outside to protest their governor and host of the conference, Deval Patrick.

As many as 2,000 cops from across the state picketed the first night of the National Governors Association meeting in Boston, shouting “Dump Deval!” as busloads of VIPs arrived for a dinner at Fenway Park [map] hosted by Gov. Deval Patrick.

It was the first of two major protests police unions have planned for Patrick as he hosts the nation’s governors this weekend. Officers are angry over layoffs, cuts to the Quinn Bill educational stipend, the use of flagmen at road construction sites and what they see as a broken campaign promise to put 1,000 more cops on the streets.

“When he was running against (former Attorney General) Tom Reilly he needed us, so he tried to appease us,” said Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association president Thomas Nee. “Things are not getting better out there, they’re getting worse. We’re starting to see it every weekend.”

Video here.

One of Deval Patrick’s many broken campaign promises was to put 1000 more cops on the streets.  It’s been almost four years and instead of new cops heading to the police academy, veterans are getting pink slips.

Together we can.

4 Year-Old Girl Raped By Illegal Immigrant In Sanctuary State Massachusetts

Yes, you read that correctly.  Four. Years. Old.

From Michael Graham’s Boston Herald column:

For a little girl who spent this weekend lying in a Massachusetts hospital, the debate over illegal immigration isn’t about race or politics.

It’s about life and death.

Four-year-old Heidi was brutally raped on Saturday. Now she’s listed in “serious” condition at Baystate Medical Center.

Springfield police have charged 22-year-old Edlizar Mazariegos with aggravated rape of a child with force. Mazariegos, who regularly traveled up and down the East Coast without a driver’s license, is an illegal immigrant. As of this writing, he is on the run from Massachusetts police – likely for the first time ever.

He’s certainly had no need to run before.

This is, after all, “Welcoming Massachusetts,” where liberal Democrats openly support benefits for criminal immigrants and oppose immigration law enforcement.

Gov. Deval Patrick isn’t just ambivalent about border security, he’s openly hostile. He shut down Gov. Mitt Romney’s state police immigration-enforcement program and – in a moment of wince-inducing irony – was on my radio station repeating his opposition to local immigration enforcement even as the Herald was reporting the story of Heidi’s rape on its Web site.

This weekend, Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona will be in Boston for the National Governors Association meeting. She’ll be greeted by protesters from groups who support Patrick’s pro-illegal stance, like the far-left ANSWER Coalition and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Brewer will be denounced here by politicians and media pundits alike. But for what?

For a policy that, had it been in place in Massachusetts, could have prevented the rape of this little girl.

Nobody argues that all illegal immigrants are rapists, or that most of them commit violent crime. That’s clearly nonsense.

But what is inarguable is that politicians who allow criminal immigrants to live openly and easily in their states are, at some level, responsible for the crimes they may commit and the corruption they engender.

Deval Patrick should have to face the parents of little Heidi and explain to them why he is more concerned with giving animals like Mazariegos a driver’s license and in-state tuition than detaining them and sending them back to where they came from.

Court Rejects Obama’s Job-Killing Drilling Ban Appeal

As they should have.

A federal appeals-court panel on Thursday quickly rejected the Obama administration’s bid to keep intact a moratorium on deepwater drilling while it appealed a federal judge’s decision overturning the ban.

The three-judge panel ruled that Interior Secretary Ken Salazar didn’t prove the U.S. would suffer irreparable harm without an immediate ban on exploratory drilling in deep waters.

“The secretary has failed to demonstrate a likelihood of irreparable injury if the stay is not granted,” reads the panel’s decision, issued late Thursday shortly after the panel heard arguments from both sides in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. “He has made no showing that there is any likelihood that drilling activities will be resumed pending appeal.”

The Interior Department didn’t have immediate comment.

The decision came quicker than expected as the judges announced Thursday that they would rule by early next week.

Another smackdown for Team O.

Rasmussen: 56% Oppose United States v. Arizona, 61% Are Down With a Similar Law In Their State

Raaaacists!

Voters by a two-to-one margin oppose the U.S. Justice Department’s decision to challenge the legality of Arizona’s new immigration law in federal court. Sixty-one percent (61%), in fact, favor passage of a law like Arizona’s in their own state, up six points from two months ago.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 28% of voters agree that the Justice Department should challenge the state law. Fifty-six percent (56%) disagree and another 16% are not sure.

These findings are unchanged from late May when the possibility of such a challenge first surfaced in news reports.

Eighty-six percent (86%) of all Likely Voters say the immigration issue is at least somewhat important to how they will vote for Congress this November, with 55% who say it is Very Important.

This is going to be a killer for many Democrats in November, but Barry & Co. couldn’t care less.  They have their eye on 2012 and must pander to the La Raza crowd for turnout and cash.

Civil Rights Panel Will Pursue Federal Probe In New Blank Panther Case, Will Issue New Subpoenas

A nation of racial cowards no more.

The bipartisan panel investigating allegations that the Justice Department wrongly abandoned a case against the New Black Panther Party plans to issue a new round of subpoenas and call for a separate federal probe following explosive testimony from an ex-Justice official, a commissioner said.

As the case heats up, members of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights may even travel to South Carolina to track down one witness.

Former Justice attorney J. Christian Adams on Tuesday testified before the commission that his former employer not only abandoned the voter intimidation case for racial reasons, but had instructed attorneys in the civil rights division to ignore cases that involve black defendants and white victims.

Commissioner Ashley Taylor said the panel will send out a letter as early as Wednesday calling for the Justice Department to open an investigation into the charge. The letter will go to Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez, who in May told the panel to bring any such claims “to our attention” if there’s evidence.

Post-racial my ass.

This Says It All

Byron York did a quick Lexis Nexis search on the Muslim-Outreach comments made by NASA director, Charles Bolden.

Here is what the search yielded:

  • Total words about the NASA Muslim outreach program in the New York Times: 0.

Crickets.
I can’t wait to see these Obama rump swabs don their funeral attire (think Katie Couric in black circa 2004) the morning after the November midterms.

Rhode Island State Troopers Are Raaaacists!

Hold onto your knit hats, moonbats.  Rhode Island State Troopers are doing something that Barak’s mini-me put the kibosh on within seconds of being sworn in.  What are they doing you ask?  They are reporting illegal immigrants to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

SCITUATE, R.I. — Rhode Island State Trooper Nuno Vasconcelos was patrolling Interstate 95 a few months ago when he came upon a two-car accident in heavy traffic. The trooper pulled up, stepped out of his cruiser, and asked one of the drivers for his license.

The man said he did not have a license, and under questioning, confessed that he was here illegally from Guatemala.

If the accident had happened 15 miles north in Massachusetts, the man would probably have been arrested for driving without a license, which carries a fine of up to $1,000 and 10 days in jail, then released pending an appearance in district court.

But in Rhode Island, illegal immigrants face a far greater penalty: deportation.

From Woonsocket to Westerly, the troopers patrolling the nation’s smallest state are reporting all illegal immigrants they encounter, even on routine stops such as speeding, to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE.

Sounds an awful lot like the Arizona law that is making liberal and illegal heads explode to me.

One Big Bag Of Empty Words

This is how economic retail expert, Howard Davidowitz, describes Obama in an interview with Yahoo! Finance.

He goes on to say:

“He is Mr. Mass Destruction. I mean he is a human destroyer. This guy has spent his way into oblivion and we don’t have a budget. He is surrounded by a bunch of complete incompetents, led by himself, and he’s spending like crazy, and we keep digging the hole bigger.”

I think that just about sums it up.

Happy Birthday America!

While you are enjoying your day attending cookouts, boating or beaching please take a moment to pay tribute to the brave men and women who are serving overseas so we can enjoy the freedoms we so often take for granted.

You Lie! Obama Admin Will Not Rule Out Denying Insurance Due To Pre-Existing Conditions

You heard it ad nauseum from Barry & Co.:  Under Obamacare, for the first time in the history of the universe, the eeevil health insurance companies will no longer be able to deny coverage to Americans with pre-existing medical conditions.

As it turns out, it was just another Obama-ism (that would be a lie).

The Obama administration has not ruled out turning sick people away from an insurance program created by the new healthcare law to provide coverage for the uninsured.

Critics of the $5 billion high-risk pool program insist it will run out of money before Jan. 1, 2014. That’s when the program sunsets and health plans can no longer discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions.

Administration officials insist they can make changes to the program to ensure it lasts until 2014, and that it may not have to turn away sick people. Officials said the administration could also consider reducing benefits under the program, or redistributing funds between state pools. But they acknowledged turning some people away was also a possibility.

Remember in November.
