Well Played, Trump. Obama Releases Long Form Birth Certificate

I’ve opined for some time that there were two possible reasons for Obama’s refusal to release his long form birth certificate.  One of my possible theories was that his religion was listed as Muslim which could have lost him the election.  The other theory (shared by many) was that there was absolutely nothing damaging on the long form, but the Obama camp decided early on that instead of releasing it,  they would keep it embargoed to shoot down those who questioned his citizenship and label them racists and kooks.  But then came along The Donald.   Obama and his staff quickly lost control of the narrative and Americans who are already unhappy with his handling of everything from gas prices to Lybia had a daily dose of Trump on the airwaives raising the question of his citizenship over and over again.  With his poll numbers tanking, Obama could not afford this heading into  the 2012 election cycle.

Of course Obama couldn’t resist scolding us for daring to raise the question while he has hard work to do.  Like playing golf and taking vacations.

Obama’s Numbers On Economy Are Cratering

It must have killed the rump swabs at the New York Times to print these poll results.

At a time of rising gas prices, stubborn unemployment and a cacophonous debate in Washington over the federal government’s ability to meet its future obligations, the poll presents stark evidence that the slow, if unsteady, gains in public confidence earlier this year that a recovery was under way are now all but gone.

Capturing what appears to be an abrupt change in attitude, the survey shows that the number of Americans who think the economy is getting worse has jumped 13 percentage points in just one month. Though there have been encouraging signs of renewed growth since last fall, many economists are having second thoughts, warning that the pace of expansion might not be fast enough to create significant numbers of new jobs.

The dour public mood is dragging down ratings for both parties in Congress and for President Obama, the poll found.

Disapproval of Mr. Obama’s handling of the economy has never been worse — up to 57 percent of Americans — a warning sign as he begins to set his sights on re-election in 2012. And a similar percentage disapprove of how Mr. Obama is handling the federal budget deficit, though more disapprove of the way Republicans in Congress are.

The Times doesn’t even mention the most devastating number for Obama – Right Track/Wrong Track.  It must have been too painful:

Right Track = 26%

Wrong Track = 70%

Say it with me….Malaise.

Obama’s Freeloading Auntie Z Unloads On The Donald

From her taxpayer-funded digs, Auntie Z.  railed against Donald Trump for questioning her nephew’s place of birth.

From her home in South Boston, filled with pictures of her Mother and President Obama, his 58-year-old aunt says Trump’s accusations are bringing ridicule to her family back in Kenya. She described the billionaire’s words as degrading and hurtful.

“When you are doing politics you should leave the family aside,” said Onyango.

The President’s aunt says when she was a girl in Kenya in 1961, the President’s father, her brother, sent the family a letter announcing the birth of his son, the future President. She says the letter came from Hawaii.

“My brother was telling my mother how happy he was he had another baby boy on the other side,” said Onyango.

She now has strong words for Trump.

“I respect his wealth, but I only demand him to respect us,” said Onyango.

Onyango says she hopes her message gets to Trump.

“And I challenge him. Let him call me and we’ll talk,” said Onyango. “Let him come and ask me.”

I’m sure he’ll get right on that.

Shocka: Wealthy Mass Moonbats Opt Not To Pay Higher Tax Rate

Trustafarians always balk when it’s time to put their money where their mouths are.  Howie Carr lays it all out as only he can in his column today.

Your average liberal would give an illegal alien the shirt off your back. Not his back, but your back. Just ask them. They sit in Starbucks and angrily blog about how AmeriKKKans who work don’t pay their “fair share.”

They harrumph, what about the children?

So far this tax season, the state Department of Revenue has received 1,971,000 returns.

And of those 1.971 million filers, exactly 862 have checked the box to pay at the old, higher 5.85 percent rate rather than the current 5.3 percent rate.

[…]

Of course, this is an old tradition in Massachusetts, liberals running up the tab and then when the check arrives — hey, come back here you ponytailed carpetbagger! They play the political equivalent of the old chew ’n’ screw. And I don’t just mean their heroes, such as Sen. John Kerry, with his $7 million yacht, the SS Deadbeat. Or the assorted state solons loading up on booze and smokes in tax-free New Hampshire.

We already know the most liberal states contribute the least to charity per capita. The louder the liberals talk about the need to pay more, the faster they flee from helping out the most vulnerable members of society who fell through the safety net shredded by George W. Bush, etc. etc.

But . . . but . . . we all know that with their trust funds and their no-heavy-lifting jobs at the colleges and the Globe and WGBH, most moonbats are living high on the hog. So maybe these 862 people are coughing up big bucks.

Guess again. Those 862 people ponied up an extra $69,188. That works out to about $80 per person, which means their average income is . . . $16,000.

I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

‘Luis, when’s he going to keep his promise?’

This is the question a Democratic congressman from Obama’s home state says he is asked  “wherever he goes.”  What was the promise?  Immigration reform…otherwise known as amnesty.

Luis Gutierrez was in East Boston yesterday to push support for the DREAM act….otherwise known as amnesty.

“We kind of made a covenant. There was a compact. You came to us and you said, ‘Elect me president of the United States and I will be your champion for immigration reform,’ ’’ said Representative Luis V. Gutierrez of Illinois. “Wherever I go, people say to me, ‘Luis, when’s he going to keep his promise?’ ’’

Gutierrez spoke on one stop of a 20-city tour he is calling the Campaign for American Children and Families, to condemn an increase in deportation orders and to draw attention to the tenuous lives of the children of immigrants who fear their families will be torn apart.

The usual sob stories were told to the usual suspects including Representative Mike Capuano of Summerville….otherwise known as a sanctuary city.

“They violated my rights as a US citizen. They violated my family’s rights as human beings,’’ she told the audience of about 250 people. Though she and her younger brother are citizens, she said, her parents have only temporary protection orders and her older brother is undocumented.

[…]

“I’m actually tired of this issue,’’ Capuano told the crowd, saying the country has a long history of viewing new waves of immigrants as suspect or undeserving of rights. “And I’m tired of it because it’s a new issue again, because it’s a long, long history in this country of always looking at the new wave of immigrants as somehow people who are bad, somehow people who don’t deserve rights. You’d think that we would have learned something from our history. And we haven’t.’’

Gutierrez warned that Obama could lose the Latino vote if he doesn’t bow to their wishes.   This guy clearly hasn’t gotten the memo that Obama’s promises come with expiration dates.
