Bawney Frank: Priceline Negotiator

Bombastic Barney Blows Off Debate With Opponent

Barney says he’s too good, er, too busy to debate.

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – We invited incumbent Barney Frank (D) to debate Sean Bielat (R). Sean Bielat was live in our Dedham studio. Barney Frank, who has held the seat since 1981, was unable to join us.

Frank’s office told us, The congressman is busy in Washington being a congressman. He welcomes debates, but due to scheduling conflicts he couldn’t make it tonight.

Next thing you know, he’ll be scoffing at the idea of shaking hands with the masses outside of Fenway Park and calling Curt Schilling a Yankees fan.

Boston Sports Talker: Tebow NFL Draft Party Looked Like A Nazi Rally

Not a Klan rally?

Fred “Toucher” Toettcher said yesterday on 98.5 The Sports Hub, “It looked like some kind of Nazi rally. . . . So lily-white is what I’m trying to say. Yeah, Stepford Wives.”

Station spokesman Cha-Chi Loprete said the station “received no inquiries regarding” the morning drive-time show and declined further comment. Efforts to reach Toettcher for comment were unsuccessful.

Dan Gainor, vice president for business and culture for the Media Reseach Center, a Washington, D.C.-based media watchdog group, said it’s “stunning” that Toettcher didn’t lose his job.

“It’s an amazing double standard,” Gainor said. “The left has decided to hate Tim Tebow for nothing more than the fact that he’s a good guy who tries to live an ethical and religious life.”

So now it’s like a Nazi rally to have a family gathering if you are a white family.  Or is it only white families who have a strong faith in God?

Boston Tea Party Pictures – Round Two

I was finally able to download the rest of the pictures from the Tea Party on the Boston Common yesterday.

Enjoy!

(Scroll for new photos courtesy of Tank)

These people must have missed the memo that anti-war protests have fallen out of fashion since Obama’s election.

So angry.  It could incite violence…

What’s this?  There goes your narrative, Comrade Keith.

The only Hitler references/imagery came from the Lydon LaRouche DEMOCRATS.  That’s supposed to be Barney Frank sitting next to Barack H(itler) Obama.

Sorry, Husky Blogger…just another LaRouche DEMOCRAT.

Barack Obama, mmm mmm good!

A Palin impersonator.  Keep your day job, honey.

The kid on the left called me a retard and said he thought Obama’s Special Olympics joke was hilarious.

This was my favorite sign of the day.

Clearly a raaaacist from Southie.

This young woman actually started crying when she couldn’t explain her t-shirt to me.  It might have had something to do with the (lovely) black Tea Partier standing next to me.  Or the gay man holding the pro Tea Party sign.  Or perhaps she was furious at herself for being caught up in a wave of disinformation provided by her college friends and felt like a total ass for wearing a shirt that made her look like an uninformed fool.

Great job, Tank!

Boston Tea Party – Seen and Heard

I just got back from the Tea Party on Boston Common.  What a great event!  I have heard crowd estimates of between 7,000 and 10,000.  The only hateful signs I saw were those being held by snotty, liberal college students who were hurling insults at Sarah Palin while she spoke.  There was a lot of PDS on display.  I saw people from all walks of life, of all races, young, old and in between – all of whom were there to express their opposition to the direction that Obama and the Democrats are trying to take our country.

On the drive home I heard that some of the aforementioned college students threw eggs at the Tea Party Express bus.  I hope someone got video.  And I hope they got arrested.

Keith Olbermann would heart these guys

Another open-minded, tolerant liberal calling us retards while he spells “does” as “dose”

An obvious homophobe

Try telling that to the Husky Blogger

CNN’s David Gergen was strolling around without any press credentials – looking for racist  signs, I presume.

They look incredibly hateful if you ask me

The Hammer gets some love

OK then you must be a homophobe, cuz that’s what the Husky Blogger sez

More homophobes

Yeah, baby!

Toys today…your hard earned dollars tommow, kid.

This clown was one of the Sarah Palin hecklers

These enlightened college kidz thought they were making a brilliant point by calling the Boston Common socialist because its upkeep is paid for with tax dollars.  The dude with the skinny jeans wasn’t pleased when I pointed out that it’s the Boston Common – not Commons.

The kid holding this sign was a foul-mouthed puke who heckled Sarah Palin while she gave her speech.  His friends were delighted with his antics.

“Biden” has become an adjective

Finally.  A raaaacist sign.

George would have been proud today

More to come!

Linked at Instapundit and JWF!  Thanks!

Ready To Party!

I’m heading to Boston for the Tea Party rally on the Common.  The organizers are expecting thousands to turn out to hear Sarah Palin and to protest against ObamaCare, tax increases, soaring deficits, ever-increasing government intrusion in our lives, Obama’s alarmingly naive national security policies, lack of transparency, etc. etc. etc.

I’ll be meeting up with a fellow Patriot to make a few signs.  I think one will be a sign to expose plants – with an arrow on it and I’ll stand next to the person.  If you have ideas for signs, please send them along.  I’ll have my iPhone with me and will be checking in and posting pics in the comments section of this post.

Oh and if you are going, shoot me an email at spitfire.murphy@yahoo.com – I’ll check it on the dreaded T.

Wish me luck!

Bill Delahunt, Braintree P.D. Have Some ‘Splainin To Do

Scroll for updates

Amy Bishop, the nutty professor who went on a killing spree at the University of Alabama at Huntsville on Friday, has killed before.  And not just anyone.  In 1986 she fatally shot her brother after an argument.  What happened next has all the makings of a coverup.

“I don’t want to use the word ‘coverup.’ I don’t know what the thought process was at the time,” said Braintree Police Chief Paul Frazier yesterday at an explosive press conference, adding later, “It reflects poorly on the department. This would not happen in this day and age.”

On Dec. 6, 1986, Frazier said, then-20-year-old Amy Bishop blasted her brother, Seth Bishop, 18 – described in newspaper reports at the time as a talented violinist and science student – with a shotgun during an argument, fled the family’s Victorian manse and was later arrested by cops at gunpoint.

So she was then taken into custody, booked, charged and arraigned right?  Wrong.

According to Frazier, then-Chief John Polio ordered cops to release Bishop – whose mother, Judith Bishop, Frazier said was a public official sitting on the Personnel Committee.

“I spoke with the retired deputy chief who was . . . responsible for booking Ms. Bishop. He said he had started the process when he received a call from then-Police Chief John Polio or possibly from a captain on Chief Polio’s behalf,” Frazier said.

“He was instructed to stop the booking process. At some point Ms. Bishop was turned over to her mother and they left the building via a rear exit. . . . The release of Ms. Bishop did not sit well with the police officers.”

The former police chief is claiming that there was nothing unusual about releasing Bishop before any charges were filed and says he turned the case over to the D.A.  now U.S. Congressman, Bill Delahunt.

But Mr. Polio, 87, reached at home on Saturday, called even the suggestion of a cover-up laughable and said that the case had been handled lawfully. He said he remembered there being a shooting and recalled that Dr. Bishop and her brother had been “horsing around.”

“Everything was done that should have been done under the circumstances,” Mr. Polio said in a phone interview. “She was questioned, and then turned over to her mother. The determination was made that we were going to turn the inquiry over to the district attorney.”

Delahunt has developed amnesia.

Delahunt, now a congressman, yesterday said in a telephone interview that he did not recall the case.

I’m not ready to say this definitely was a cover-up, but there are many questions that need to be answered.  The Braintree PD needs to determine, who it was that called in the orders to release Bishop.  Delahunt needs to be more forthcoming and work with the current DA to determine what role (if any) that his office played.  And yes, any connections between the Bishop family and any members of the Braintree PD or Delahunt’s office in 1986 need to be sought.  If nothing else, the handling of this case was severely bungled and there are now three families in Alabama who may not be planning funerals for their loved ones had Bishop been prosecuted.

Update #1 – 2/14/10 @ 11:33 a.m.:

The Boston Channel reports that it was Delahunt who made the call to Polio resulting Bishop’s release.

Braintree officers who remember the 1986 shooting said that former police Chief John Polio dismissed detectives from the case and ordered the department to release Amy Bishop after a telephone conversation with former district attorney William Delahunt, who is currently a U.S. congressman from Massachusetts.

“The police officers here were very upset about that,” said Frazier, who was a patrolman at the time and spoke to officers who remembered the incident that day, including one who filed a report on it.

When contacted Saturday, Polio, now 86, said that there was no cover up in Seth Bishop’s death, though there were questions about whether the shooting was an accident.

“I remember Judy Bishop and that she had two children and I know that they got into an argument one day and somehow a shot got involved, or a weapon of some kind, and it went off, according to them by accident. According to the mother and to the daughter, by the daughter,” Polio said in a telephone interview with The Patriot Ledger.

Polio told NewsCenter 5 he has no memory of telling officers to go home. He said there was an inquest by Delahunt’s office and that the district attorney found that the shooting did not warrant charges. Polio said he doesn’t know how the records would have gone missing.

Amy Bishop and her husband, James Anderson, were questioned after a package containing two bombs was sent to the Newton home of Dr. Paul Rosenberg, a professor and doctor at Boston’s Children’s Hospital.[…]

Bishop surfaced as a suspect because she was allegedly concerned that she was going to receive a negative evaluation from Rosenberg on her doctorate work, the official said. The official said investigators believed she had a motive to target Rosenberg and were concerned that she had a history of violence, given that she had shot her brother to death in 1986.

Investigators conducted a search of the home where Bishop and Anderson were living and questioned the couple, the official said. Anderson was questioned about whether he had purchased any of the components used to make the bombs, the official said.

During a search of Bishop’s computer, authorities found a draft of a novel that Bisthop was writing about a female scientist who had killed her brother and was hoping to make amends by hoping to become a great scientist, according to a person who was briefed on the investigation and spoke to the Globe on the condition of anonymity.

The US attorney’s office in Boston did not seek any charges against Bishop or Anderson, and no one was ever charged with mailing the bombs to Rosenberg.

“The police officers here were very upset about that,” said Frazier, who was a patrolman at the time and spoke to officers  who remembered the incident that day, including one who filed a report on it.

Did Delahunt broom the case?

Barry’s Bay State Visit A Bust

Barry breezed into town yesterday to talk climate change at MIT and attend a fundraiser for his pal, Cadillac Deval Patrick.

It was a helluva lot different than the last time The One came to Boston during the presidential campaign.  Last year he was greeted by thousands of cheering fans.  Yesterday, he was greeted by protesters – including some from his own party.obama protest boston

Then, during his climate change speech at MIT, the TOTUS failed the POTUS .

Later, he attended a fundraiser for Governor Deval Patrick and spoke to less than capacity crowds.

“There really should be no doubt that this guy gets a second term. But let’s be honest. This is going to be a tough race,” Obama told a room barely half-full with 125 deep-pocketed Democrats who ponied up $6,000 for Patrick and the party. “Re-election is not a foregone conclusion because times are tough.”

Reflecting those hard times, the swanky Westin Copley Place ballroom – where the subsequent $500-a-head fund-raiser was held – was “about two-thirds full,” with about 400 people attending, according to press pool reports.

Bloom off the rose.

Protests Planned For Obama’s Boston Visit….By Moonbats!

Barry will be in town today and will attend a fund raiser for his pal, Deval Patrick whose reelection chances are in big trouble.  But not everyone is happy.

President Obama blows into the bluest state tomorrow facing a cold shoulder from once true-blue admirers, as gay rights activists, anti-war protesters and vexed environmentalists vow to picket a fund-raiser he’s headlining for Gov. Deval Patrick – a marquee event that hasn’t even sold out.

As of last night, liberals who once braved frigid temperatures to behold Obama were shunning tickets to the fund-raiser at the posh Westin Copley Place featuring the president, sources told the Herald. And despite campaign denials, Patrick operatives reportedly were pushing the ducats – between $500 and $6,000 – by e-mail up to the last minute.

Who will be dogging Mr. Hope & Change?

Anti-war activists CODEPINK, who are irate with the president for backpedaling on promises to withdraw from Iraq and weighing a surge of U.S. troops in Afghanistan.   OBAMAPATRICK

“It’s disturbing and very upsetting,” said Sarah Roche-Mahdi, the group’s Greater Boston coordinator.

Donning bright-pink wigs and hats, these anti-war women said they’ll shadow Obama from MIT, where he’s slated to give a speech on the environment, to the swank Westin Copley fund-raiser.

Environmental coalition 350.org – which has soured on Obama’s efforts to curb global warming – plans to protest the MIT address. They’re also taking out a full-page ad in the MIT student paper questioning Obama’s commitment to the green cause.

Gays and lesbians are furious with Obama for forsaking campaign vows to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and the ban on gays serving openly in the military.

About 150 members of gay marriage advocate Join the Impact-MA plan to converge on the Hub hotel to give the commander in chief an earful.

“I voted for him because of his speeches and rhetoric and his promises,” said Paul Sousa, the group’s co-founder. “I thought he’d act on those promises.”

I think that pretty much sums up the average Obama voter’s motivation.

Obama Is Coming To Mass To Help Out His Pal, Cadillac Deval

Oh goody.

Deval needs all the help he can get.  19% was the last official approval rating released.

After he wraps up in Boston (home of the cars melting ice caps in the Arctic) he will head to Connecticut to help another friend…of Angelo, that is.

President Barack Obama is coming to Massachusetts to raise money for Gov. Deval Patrick.

A White House aide confirms the president will attend an Oct. 23 luncheon on behalf of the governor, who is barack-obama-deval-patrickrunning for re-election next year but has been slow to collect campaign donations.

Later in the day, he will attend a dinner in Connecticut for Sen. Chris Dodd, who is also up for reelection in 2010.

Another great sacrifice on Barry’s part.  No word on whether Michelle will accompany him on this mercy mission.
