Shocka: Wealthy Mass Moonbats Opt Not To Pay Higher Tax Rate

Trustafarians always balk when it’s time to put their money where their mouths are.  Howie Carr lays it all out as only he can in his column today.

Your average liberal would give an illegal alien the shirt off your back. Not his back, but your back. Just ask them. They sit in Starbucks and angrily blog about how AmeriKKKans who work don’t pay their “fair share.”

They harrumph, what about the children?

So far this tax season, the state Department of Revenue has received 1,971,000 returns.

And of those 1.971 million filers, exactly 862 have checked the box to pay at the old, higher 5.85 percent rate rather than the current 5.3 percent rate.

[…]

Of course, this is an old tradition in Massachusetts, liberals running up the tab and then when the check arrives — hey, come back here you ponytailed carpetbagger! They play the political equivalent of the old chew ’n’ screw. And I don’t just mean their heroes, such as Sen. John Kerry, with his $7 million yacht, the SS Deadbeat. Or the assorted state solons loading up on booze and smokes in tax-free New Hampshire.

We already know the most liberal states contribute the least to charity per capita. The louder the liberals talk about the need to pay more, the faster they flee from helping out the most vulnerable members of society who fell through the safety net shredded by George W. Bush, etc. etc.

But . . . but . . . we all know that with their trust funds and their no-heavy-lifting jobs at the colleges and the Globe and WGBH, most moonbats are living high on the hog. So maybe these 862 people are coughing up big bucks.

Guess again. Those 862 people ponied up an extra $69,188. That works out to about $80 per person, which means their average income is . . . $16,000.

I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

Where Have All The Moonbats Gone?

Howie Carr asks the same question we have all been asking since the Vacationer In Chief strarted a third war with an oil-rich Muslim country while playing soccer in Rio.

When George Bush was president, every People’s Republic in New England had a hard-core group of wrinkly haters who would gather weekly on the town common, or in front of the courthouse, holding “No Blood for Oil” signs.

Where have all the moonbats gone? Who knew there was a Witness Protection Program for the MIA Birkenstock crowd? I’ve even got a new chant for them: “Hey hey, ho ho, Barack the war criminal’s got to go!”

Will Cindy Sheehan take the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard this summer to protest Barack on one of his many vacations, which the lickspittles in the media now invariably refer to as “working vacations”?

Will Comrade Chris Matthews call Obama what he always used to call Bush and Cheney? You know, “chickenhawk.”Remember Abu Ghraib? The New York Times [NYT] went crazy over “war crimes.”

Now there are thousands of photos of a handful of U.S. troops in Afghanistan posing with “trophy” bodies of civilians. But all the Times has to say is, nothing to see here, folks. Move along.

Change.

I’ll Have The Martha Chokely Sandwich, Please.

Very busy here getting caught up from the lost days leading up to and following the election.

In the meantime, enjoy this Boston Globe article detailing the moonbat mourning from Amherst to Cambridge.

They filed in and out of coffeehouses, all but crying in their cappuccinos, barely touching their carrot cake muffins, still in shock that Scott Brown – a Republican! – had been elected to the US Senate in the state that pioneered universal health care, legalized same-sex marriage, and normally sends 12 Democrats to Congress.

In the days since the unthinkable happened, diehard Democrats have been forced to confront results that suggest Massachusetts votes much the way rest of the country does – blue on the edges with a big red swath in the middle. They have grappled with the possibility that the Commonwealth, until this week viewed by the much of the country as an outpost of extreme liberalism, may not be all that. And that has left them blue – in the other meaning of the word – over Martha Coakley’s defeat.

The horror.  A Republican.  Welcome to my world.  How’s the view from the other side?

In Amherst, Seamon, owner of The Black Sheep, was planning to put a new item on the menu to express his disappointment in the Democratic candidate: The Martha Chokely sandwich.

I’ll have one of those to go, please.

Marblehead, MA Gym Members Offended At The Sight Old Glory

Perhaps the Beautiful People of Marblehead would prefer a Che flag?  This isn’t surprising given that in recent years another Massachusetts town was involved in a similar display of anti-Americanism.

MARBLEHEAD (FOX25, myfoxboston) – The owner of Gravity Fitness in Marblehead says gym members have complained about the American flag hanging inside the gym.

The Fitness club’s owner, 23 year-old Mark Shay, hung the 12 foot long flag from the gym rafters on Friday and had over a dozen complaints by Monday.

Some have complained that the flag blocks gym televisions, while some members have gone as far as to say that the flag is offensive.

One members was quoted to say “It’s like putting a Jesus cross in my face.”

Another member feels the exact opposite and said “This is America. If you don’t like to see the flag you can move somewhere else.”

Shay did move the flag so it would not block the TVs but said now the flag is going to stay right where it is.  He also said if the complaining members decide to leave the gym he will just have to live with that.

Marblehead is one town over from where I live.  Maybe I’ll join this gym to show my support for Mr. Shay.  I’ll wear my lucky W’04 t-shirt to really drive the moonbats nuts.  Any other ideas for t-shirts?  This could be a lot of fun.  BWAAAHAHAHA.

Dem Candidate For Ted Kennedy’s Senate Seat Foreign Policy Credentials? Her Sister Lives Overseas.

Oh and she traveled, but won’t say where to….and she grew up during Vietnam.  Well, I’m convinced.

Rivals blasted the strange foreign policy credentials offered by Attorney General Martha Coakley yesterday after the U.S. Senate candidate – in an answer reminiscent of former vice presidential contender Sarah Palin – counted her sister’s overseas home as part of her own international know-how.

“To think having a sister who lives overseas gives you experience is naive at the very best,” said state Sen. Scott Brown, a Republican candidate in the U.S. Senate race. “Do I have the best foreign policy experience? No, but I’m always eager to learn and I certainly have more than having a relative who lives there.”

Coakley made the blunder in response to a question about her lack of international experience and her travels abroad during an interview on WCVB’s Channel 5’s “On the Record” program yesterday.

“I have a sister who lives overseas, and she’s been in England and now lives in the Middle East,” Coakley said, adding she has traveled but declining to say where.

Video here. Start at 2:00 to hear Coakley talk up her “credentials” and get in a little Bush bashing to kiss up to the Moonbat base here in Mass.

Barry’s Bay State Visit A Bust

Barry breezed into town yesterday to talk climate change at MIT and attend a fundraiser for his pal, Cadillac Deval Patrick.

It was a helluva lot different than the last time The One came to Boston during the presidential campaign.  Last year he was greeted by thousands of cheering fans.  Yesterday, he was greeted by protesters – including some from his own party.obama protest boston

Then, during his climate change speech at MIT, the TOTUS failed the POTUS .

Later, he attended a fundraiser for Governor Deval Patrick and spoke to less than capacity crowds.

“There really should be no doubt that this guy gets a second term. But let’s be honest. This is going to be a tough race,” Obama told a room barely half-full with 125 deep-pocketed Democrats who ponied up $6,000 for Patrick and the party. “Re-election is not a foregone conclusion because times are tough.”

Reflecting those hard times, the swanky Westin Copley Place ballroom – where the subsequent $500-a-head fund-raiser was held – was “about two-thirds full,” with about 400 people attending, according to press pool reports.

Bloom off the rose.

Protests Planned For Obama’s Boston Visit….By Moonbats!

Barry will be in town today and will attend a fund raiser for his pal, Deval Patrick whose reelection chances are in big trouble.  But not everyone is happy.

President Obama blows into the bluest state tomorrow facing a cold shoulder from once true-blue admirers, as gay rights activists, anti-war protesters and vexed environmentalists vow to picket a fund-raiser he’s headlining for Gov. Deval Patrick – a marquee event that hasn’t even sold out.

As of last night, liberals who once braved frigid temperatures to behold Obama were shunning tickets to the fund-raiser at the posh Westin Copley Place featuring the president, sources told the Herald. And despite campaign denials, Patrick operatives reportedly were pushing the ducats – between $500 and $6,000 – by e-mail up to the last minute.

Who will be dogging Mr. Hope & Change?

Anti-war activists CODEPINK, who are irate with the president for backpedaling on promises to withdraw from Iraq and weighing a surge of U.S. troops in Afghanistan.   OBAMAPATRICK

“It’s disturbing and very upsetting,” said Sarah Roche-Mahdi, the group’s Greater Boston coordinator.

Donning bright-pink wigs and hats, these anti-war women said they’ll shadow Obama from MIT, where he’s slated to give a speech on the environment, to the swank Westin Copley fund-raiser.

Environmental coalition 350.org – which has soured on Obama’s efforts to curb global warming – plans to protest the MIT address. They’re also taking out a full-page ad in the MIT student paper questioning Obama’s commitment to the green cause.

Gays and lesbians are furious with Obama for forsaking campaign vows to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and the ban on gays serving openly in the military.

About 150 members of gay marriage advocate Join the Impact-MA plan to converge on the Hub hotel to give the commander in chief an earful.

“I voted for him because of his speeches and rhetoric and his promises,” said Paul Sousa, the group’s co-founder. “I thought he’d act on those promises.”

I think that pretty much sums up the average Obama voter’s motivation.

Beautiful! Moonbats Boycott Whole Foods Because CEO Does Not Support ObamaCare

This is deliciously delicious. Imagine the heartache among  Moonbats when they learned last week  that the CEO of Whole Foods sounds an awful lot like a *gasp* conservative when writing about health care reform.

Naturally, the boycott organizer is a  Massachusetts resident.

A Massachusetts man is leading a boycott crusade against the earthy Whole Foods chain, whose chief executive has upset liberals for not embracing President Obama’s health-care proposals.

Mark E. Rosenthal, a Great Barrington playwright, said he and other Whole Foods shoppers feel betrayed by John Mackey’s support for health-care savings accounts and his assertion that health-care coverage is not an intrinsic right.

So Rosenthal and others have launched Boycott Whole Foods, complete with Facebook, Twitter and blog blasts against Mackey, whose op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal last week ignited an online firestorm of criticism from the political left.

“I was upset by the way Mackey repeated the lies and distortions, already debunked, about deregulation as a panacea for all of our ills,” Rosenthal, 39, said in an e-mail yesterday. “The way he used the phrase ‘personal responsibility’ as a way to blame poor people and sick people for needing help really upset me. But . . . the most upsetting thing about Mackey’s op-ed was the logical outcome of his ‘free-marketeering’ ideas: the destruction of the social safety net. I do not want to support any business whose co-founder and CEO advocates that.”

Newsflash, Mark.  Those poor people whom you claim to care so much about can’t afford to shop at Whole Foods like you.

I predict this boycott will be short-lived.  Where else can urban liberals get their arugula and free range chickens?

More “Mean Signs” From Obama’s Kabuki Summer Tour

Here are some more of those mean signs the little girl (whose mother just happened to be the coordinator of “Massachusetts Women for Obama” during the campaign) was so hurt by:

As you would expect, this woman drew the ire of the group of her sisters from Planned Parenthood across the street.
